Well, Mr Watanuki was talking earlier about wanting to cook the sheep the golden fleece came from, and I started thinking...I would quite like to cook some mutton (even if it is a bit weird seeing the alive sheep all over the place and then thinking about cooking them, they're so cute and fuzzy).
I have some recipes I'd like to try out, if you wouldn't mind eating them.

The thing is...well, I'm sorry to ask, but if Mr Vash is right about the town being haunted...

Would anyone like to come shopping for meat with me? I'll go by myself if no-one wants to come, it's just...you know...ghosts...

Could everyone please tell us if we've run out of something you want? We can't get more unless we know we need to.

Oh no, oh no, oh no...what are we going to do? They're going to... we're going to... oh, dear...

[Collecting herself]

Is...is there anything I can do to help?

Oh dear, I really don't understand why we have to do this...but if Miss Zeetha says so, I suppose I should...

But I'm not going to 'ask a friend'! That's just...weird.

questionnaire )

Is it over?

I think I'm going to go hide in the kitchen and have a cup of tea now.

This is...this is...

How could anyone...? Those poor people...

I don't - I can't - I don't understand! How could anyone just do something like that? I can't believe the 4423 did it, but whoever did...how? Why? What...

[she gasps like she's about to start crying, and clicks the journal off]

...but why do they think anything's demihumans' fault?

And the only thing that got blown up is airships, right? Not libraries. We're not municipal buildings, no-one's tried to blow up any municipal buildings...

I don't get it. At all.

Whoever left me this apron, thankyou! It is for me, right? I mean, it was outside my door, but it might have got there by mistake, I don't know who'd want to leave me a present...but thankyou anyway, whoever you are! You really didn't have to!

And it looks quite expensive, too...it's really far too pretty to wear in the kitchen everyday, I'd spoil it. Maybe I can keep it for a special occasion?

What would be a good occasion for a pink frilly apron?

I'm really tired today, it doesn't feel like I've slept at all. I suppose it's just because it's been so crazy lately, what with the play and the Captain leaving and everything...still, that doesn't mean there isn't work that needs doing! Things should settle down soon, right? I can sleep in then.

I...I still don't really know what to say about the Captain - I mean Mr Wagner, if he's not the Captain any more - leaving, but we're all going to have to do our best to make things easier for Mr Vash - I mean, the Captain...oh dear, this is confusing - right?

Like Miss Rikku said earlier, if anything funny does happen, we should try and sort it out ourselves. And maybe everyone should keep on their toes so we can stop anything bad happening before it does? We should let Mr Vash get used to being the Captain before we do anything that might end up going pear-shaped, or it's not fair on him.

So everyone be careful, okay?

[Winding Way, including Vash this time]

Um...it's not teatime yet, but if anyone's hungry, I made some doughnuts earlier, they were supposed to be for dinner, but I got a bit confused and it's actually Miss Giselle's turn to make dessert today, so they're going spare if anyone wants them.

I want to trust Mr Coil about this, I do. I know he's an awful lot cleverer than me, so he's probably right, but I really don't think it's right to treat four people like bad guys when it's only one of them that's done anything. I like Mr Coil, but if that means I have to not like four other people, that's...not really balanced.

But we ought to catch the bomber in case they blow up someone else. It would be even worse if that happened.

I don't know what to do. It's really not right to be mean to Mr Kiryuu and Mr Lamont and Mr Stirling and Miss Hollie, and I won't. And I don't want to have to be suspicious of them, because they are all nice people.

But then it's kind of my fault if we don't catch them and something else bad happens.

Oh dear, this is very confusing...

Um, I know I said I wouldn't ask and Mr Wolf could explain later if he wanted to but I'm really confused now everyone seems to be getting angry. What did Mr Wolf say that was so bad? He just sounded happy, is that a bad thing?

Well, since the ship's up in the air again, and the kitchen's all fixed up, and we're off on another exciting adventure...I think it calls for a little celebration, don't you?

Does anyone have anything special that they'd like making for dinner tonight?

(Mr Vash, I know what you'll want, don't worry)

It's probably not my job to be saying all this, Mr Watanuki should really be in charge, it is his kitchen, but...
If we're doing outdoor cooking for lots of people, I don't think we have anything suit able to cook on, especially with the kitchen all blown up. Am I right, Mr Watanuki? You know more about what we've got in the storerooms than I do.
There'll be some empty barrels and things below decks, won't there? Should we ask Mr Alphonse if he can use them to make us some big grills?
Unless he's busy....he'll probably be busy, there is a lot of stuff to fix....

And for what we're going to cook...the vegetable storage didn't get damaged at all badly as far as I can tell, so we can do baked potatoes and vegetable kebabs and so on...I don't think we have very much meat, though, and we need plenty of that for a good barbeque. I might go into town and stock up, I think I have enough money. Is there anything either of you thinks we should have, and I'll get that too.

I don't think I understand all this stuff about identification papers and borders and things. It's all really confusing...I hope it turns out okay...

And it's really horrid about those people getting killed - why would people do that? I don't understand at all...being Ivonian doesn't make you bad, and I'm sure most Vohemaros are nice people too, so why are they killing each other?
It's really sad.

And kind of scary.
I mean, I'm from Ivona too, and I never did anything to anyone from Vohemar, but I don't think any of those people did either...

I want to go into Berum and buy some toys and food and things for Dandelion, but I'm kind of scared to go on my own now, and Captain Wagner said to go with an escort if you were worried, but I thought people would be busy with the play and stuff...

...so, is anyone free and want to go into town with me? I really do need to get to a pet shop, Dandelion needs something nice to play with that won't break - *ripping noises in the background* - Oh, Dandy, that's my nice skirt, naughty cat - and I think he needs some of that...what do you call it, that cats go to the toilet in? Is it litter?

And some cat food, obviously...we have so many cats, maybe we should buy lots for everyone? It's probably my responsibility, isn't it? I mean, I'm a cook, we're supposed to feed everyone on the ship, doesn't that include cats?

*purring noises, Tohru giggles* Dandyyy, your fur is really tickly, get off, I'll play with you in a minute...no, get off my keyboar- *journal cuts out*

*giggling* Hey, get off, that tickles! No, be careful, mind the- *crash* ...lamp.

Hey, are you okay? Silly boy *getting quieter as she moves away from the journal*
Come on, stay still...there, that's better, isn't it? *purring noises* You like that? Good...

*talking into the journal again*
Mister- I mean, Alphonse? I think I have one of your kitties.

Shall I bring him back to your room? I mean - *more giggling* no, really, rubbing your head there really tickles, stop it - I think he likes me, and he's really cute, and I'd quite like to keep him if you don't mind, but if you want him back...

I don't think I understand what's going on any more.
And I really don't think we should be shouting about this sort of thing.

And THERE IS NO STORK. I know there is no stork. Right?

...and Mr Watanuki's woodchuck looks horrible. I hope he isn't going to make me gut it.

So, I saw the news - isn't it brilliant?
I've always thought it would be so much nicer if Ivona and Vohemar could get along better, it's always better to talk than fight, right?

Well, the kitchen was a bit of a mess after all that business with the whale but it's mostly shipshape again now, or it will be once Mr Sonic brings our table back.
Anyway, I'd completely forgotten in all the excitement, but before the whale turned up, I was making doughnuts...
The mixture did end up all over the floor in the general chaos, but I've made another batch now, and there will be hot doughnuts in about...five minutes.

I was making them for Mr Vash, but anyone can have some if they want to come down to the galley~

Miss Rikku kindly lent me some measuring spoons, so I can make doughnuts now!
...oh dear, I have flour on the keyboard, excuse me while I get the dishcloth...

...Could everyone carry on looking for the spoons, please? Mr Watanuki's a bit upset.
I'll help as soon as I've finished mixing this, it needs to stand for a bit anyway.

Mr Watanuki? Miss Giselle? Anyone? Have you seen the spoons? I can't find any spoons!

*clatter of cutlery drawers*

Tablespoon, tablespoon...has anyone seen the tablespoons? Or the teaspoons?
I was going to make some doughnuts for Mr Vash and I need a tablespoon to measure the cinnamon and there aren't any spoons anywhere...

*cupboard doors opening and closing*

...I tidied the kitchen yesterday, we had plenty of spoons then, where are all the spoons?
